Today i'm working on a costum order....
XXL mugs from the "Rock" collection.
4x yellow ones and 4x dark brown ones.
When i was throwing the dark brown ones i had only one thing on my mind :)

CHOCOLATE!!

Teapots - yeh the first are finished!!

Always have been in love with teapots - and i don't make tham often...
But i started again and i'm loving it.
The first are finished and fresh from the kiln.

This one is made of my grey stoneware clay body and glazed with
a lovely bottle green glossy glaze...

Here is one made for the "Recycled Noot" collection.
Made of reclaimed clay and glazes....a sweety don't you say!! :)

And here is one in a fresh combination of matt grey and mint.
The cups are made a bit triangle shaped at the rim to create a bit of a playful vibe....

Mold making - Ceramics - The first are out!!

after a messy aventure of mold making - have to do it again soon to compleet the tableware set.
But that aside - the first cups and bowls came out....

It is an organic super thin translucent collection - up till now soon there will be two size cups and two
size bowl (a low and a higher version).

Recycled Noot - Ceramics - Oval plate

A while back i have shown some Recycled Noot oval plates here - they were not yet fired.
Here it is fired and some more from this collection.

This collection has a lace texture - i love the little suprises in this reclaimed and recycled stoneware claybody...here is a bit more about the reclaiming and recycle cycle.
It has a natural and a bit rougher look than my other works.

Reclaiming and Recycling - Ceramics - Recycled Noot

I always have been a reclaiming clay kind of person...
About 3 years ago it took strange proportions and i was starting to get extreme with it!!

Now i have designed a ceramic pottery line that is all about reclaiming and recycling.
The most unexpected things occur when high fired - i love it.
Because i work with a lot of different stoneware (high fire materials) every batch is different
of color, specks, grog, light or darkness, etc.
Also all the sweep up's from my workspace go in there.
Here a collage of this cycle...

A bowl i was sponging broke and i put it in the reclaim/recycle bucket.
Upper picture are the two halfs in kind of dry stage.
The bottom pics are made two hours later - the magic of clay!!

Porcelain BIG mugs - New - with red and blue lino cut dots.

Oh i'm happy the way these lovely big hand build porcelain mugs turned out.
I have been experimenting with linoleum cutting. And started out with an easy funky
design - Dots - one mug in red and the other in blue.
And and etching technic was applied.
Funky aren't they.
Because of the thin porcelain slabs they are not totally round in the top diameter.
But that gives each mug it own character - no two are the same!!

Blossom Spoons in the making!

Love to make spoons - in all kinds of styles.
I need a good mood for them and a gentle touch - because after making them i sponge them smooth.
If i have a not to good day the break so easy {onfired}......
But when they come out of the kiln glazed and well - ohhh love it!!

Here is one of the styles - my blossom spoons {in the making}.

Here you see the three parts that are needed...

...and here the cuties are made with a tiny blossom.

And hre they are finished - with a lovely lilac glaze!

Information about the collection: People are consuming more and more. all materials and resources we are using, are not in proportion to our own bodies, and our size in relation to the planet we are living on. for a long time, the human body has been the measure for many things, f.i. distances and weights. in this project, my body becomes a measure for consumption. I measured all parts of my body in volumes (litres)and these volumes I have captured in a series of tableware. on every bowl, cup and dish an engravement is placed, that says which part of the body and which volume fit into it.

Espresso cups - Trends and text...

A little joke and try out....
Nowadays there is a trend going on that you see all kind of furniture with there name on it - as we don't know what they are...
A table is a table and a vase is a vase ;)

Here are three espresso cups - with three little sweet words - lief (sweet) - mooi (beautiful) - zacht (soft).
And they are rather sweet - say so myself...

And some detail pictures!!

And if you are interested i can make them with all kind of (sweet) words or names.
Have to costum make them but love to do this.
